Theodore Tilton (1835-1907) was involved in a huge scandal involving charges that Green-Wood resident Henry Ward Beecher (1813-1887) (Lot 25911, Sec. 140) had committed adultery with Tilton's wife, Elizabeth Tilton (1834-1897), who is also interred at Green-Wood (Lot 18485, Sec. 51). |
