Description |
Medallion produced by the Anaconda Copper Mining Company as a souvenir for the Reduction Smelter at Anaconda and commemorating the Marcus Daly Hotel, 1888-1971. One side of the medallion reads "Reduction Smelter at Anaconda Souvenir," with an image of the site. The last Anaconda smelter closed in 1980, with the company closing in 1983. The opposite side reads, "Marcus Daly Hotel, 1888-1971," with an image of the hotel. More commonly known as the Anaconda Hotel, it was founded by Marcus Daly in 1888 in Butte, Montana and closed in 1971. |
