Civil War era stereoview of the 5th New York Volunteer Infantry, also known as Duryée's Zouaves, who were commanded by Colonel Abram Duryée. The view shows the soldiers in uniform, lined up on a field at Fort Monroe, Virginia where they were assigned in May 1861. Attributed to photographer George Stacy. |
